I am Daniel Macy, founder of Epic VIP Travel.
- 25 years ago on the stern of a ship treading through the waters off the coast of Vietnam, during a college semester at sea I fell in love with traveling.
- Since then, I’ve taken one big trip every year, and traveled to 60 different countries (still going)
- I’ve scaled ancient pyramids in Egypt, sipped Malbec in Argentina, toured Pablo Escobar’s old Medellin turf with a former gang member, and faked our way through a dozen different languages (with the help of Google Translate).
So, why start Epic VIP Travel?
- Because, after roaming over six different continents, we learned a thing or two about what makes for exceptional travel. Because, I want to help our clients.

Location: West Coast, in Encinitas.
Before Helm: Field producer for reality T.V. and casting director for big-brand print ads and commercials—learned to manage expectations (and very difficult personalities)
Favorite Trips: East Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam); the Mendoza wine region in Argentina
When not planning travel: Shooting with my Nikon X. Coaching my sons’ baseball teams. Beach, sports and Listening to Pearl Jam.
